Standish James O'Grady - Wikipedia

Standish James O’Grady (1846-1928) was an Irish author, historian and journalist named “the Father of the Celtic Revival” by his contemporaries, which included WB Yeats, Lady Gregory and George Russell (A.E). A Protestant unionist, O’Grady nonetheless was a strong advocate for the Gaelic tradition and Gaelic literature being proud of his own Gaelic heritage, writing comprehensively on bardic literature and the history of Ireland, as well as re-writing Irish legends into literary form.
