Bartholomew Dowling

Bartholomew Dowling (1823-1863) was an Irish poet and writer who lived for much of his life in the United States. Entertaining the likes of John Mitchel, Terence Bellew MacManus and General James Shields in his home, Dowling’s most famous poetry included Fontenoy, The Revel and Reminiscences of the Mines.
